From Hunan to Amsterdam

For over thirty years, we have been bringing the rich diversity of China's regional cuisines to Amsterdam, from Sichuan’s bold spices to the elegance of Cantonese cuisine.
‍
In 2026, we opened a new chapter with XIANG, dedicated to the vibrant cuisine ofHunan and traditional charcoal barbecue.
‍
Hunan cuisine is one of China’s most distinctive culinary traditions. It is known for its vibrant heat, fresh chilies, and wok-fired cooking over high flame. Each dish brings out rich aromas while preserving the natural taste of the ingredients which are bold, lively, and balanced.

At Xiang you dine like in China: sharing plates that are served as soon as they are ready. Choose from our extensive menu with cold and hot dishes that have been wokked, stewed, boiled or fried. Try the sliced eggs in chili sauce, stir-fried pork ribs with three types of chilies or our version of fried rice speckled with fish roe.

Alongside our signature dishes, we serve traditional charcoal barbecue. Our skewers are grilled over an open flame and are flavored with a unique blend of chilies and spices. The flames licking the meat are giving it a delectable smoky flavour.

You can find Xiang next to the canals of Amsterdam. Visit us soon to taste the comfort food that cures the people of Hunan of homesickness.

Whether it’s your first time trying Hunan food or a familiar taste from home, we welcome you togather, share, and enjoy.

Welcome to XIANG.
